Andrea Joy Cook

A.J. Cook is an Canadian actress best famous for her role in feature films The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Final Destination 2 (2003) as well as for her character in the role of Jennifer "JJ" Jareau in the tv drama Criminal Minds. Cook's television credits are Dead Like Me, Tru Calling, Higher Ground, Bluemoon, PSI Factor, Goosebumps, Elvis Meets Nixon, In His Father's Shoes, Laser Hawk and the television movie Island Heat. She appeared in feature films Blood Suckers II, Final Destination II The House Next Door Out Cold Ripper The Virgin Suicides Kisses The Tinker. Cook was born in Whitby by her father Mike who is an educator and her mother Sandra who is a psychiatrist. The rest of her siblings were Angela, Nathan, and Paul. Her family was Mormon or participant in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and she only plays roles that aren't in conflict with her beliefs and doctrines in The Mormon Church. When she was a little girl, she took the art of tap, jazz and ballet dance. There were many dancing competitions, but it wasn't until reached 17 years of age that she made the decision to pursue acting. Dirty Dancing, starring Patrick Swayze was the catalyst for Cook to become an actress. In the summer of 2001, Cook married her long-time boyfriend Nathan Andersen, whom she was introduced to during a film course on film at Utah Valley University. The couple has a son.
