Kari Samantha Wuhrer (born April 28, 1967) was an American actor and a singer. She began her professional career as a teenager and is best known for her roles as Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders as well as her role as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, who was a police officer as well as a auto salesman. Her siblings include three. In her teens, she performed at nightclubs in the dark, escaping from home. From the Wooster school at the age of 13 She began her studies in acting. After that, she studied at the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University, Marymount Manhattan College at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, under the famous instructor Uta Hagen, Wuhrer studied. Kari began her journey into acting at 13 and got her first big break in 1987, when she was featured on MTV Remote Control.
